Terug van vakantie / Back from leave

Was ik net zo netjes bezig mijn blog een beetje bij te houden, ga ik onaangekondigd op vakantie ;-) Het was heerlijk, we zaten in een superslecht park (Droompark Beekbergen, nooit boeken, huisjes zijn heel erg vies), maar de omgeving is er natuurlijk helemaal top, midden op de Veluwe. We hebben het superdruk gehad, want we zijn naar de Apenheul geweest, Koningin Julianatoren, Paleis het Loo, we hebben de hoogste waterval van Nederland bezocht (wel 15 hele meters hoog ;-) en ontelbare terrasjes uitgeprobeerd. En toen.....

I was such a good girl with this blog, but then I went on my holiday. Don't want to state that here before I get back...The holiday was superb, even though the accomodations were horrible (Never stay at Droompark Beekbergen, the cattages are vervy filthy). The surroundings were subleme. Right in the middle of National park "De Hoge Veluwe" which is lots of beautiful forrest. We were such busy bees, we went to a zoo completely dedicated to apes (Apenheul), to a n amusement park for little kids (Koningin Julianatoren), a royal palice (het Loo), the highest water fall in The Netherlands (make no mistake, it is really 15 meter high ;-) and we had to try out so many diferent pubs. But then.....




....was het even wat minder. De laptop hadden we steeds mee in de auto, omdat een bungalowpark ook wel uitnodigt tot spulletjes lenen zonder vragen. Maar het bleek toch de verkeerde gok, want de laptop is uit de auto gejat met het bijbehorende geweld tegen onze Rio gekeerd. De achterruit is ingeslagen. Ze moeten het geweten hebben, want de navigatie lag nog gewoon in het dashboardkastje. Vier maanden van ongebackupte Larsje foto's weg. Daar krijg je best even buikpijn van, kan ik melden.

....it all became much less enjoyable. We kept our laptop in the car, for we guessed leaving it at a holiday park was not such a good option either.We guessed wrong, because they brok into our car with excesive force. The smashed the rear window and just took te laptop. The had to know it was there, for our navigation device was still in the dashboard cabinet. Four months of unbackupped photo of our little boy vanished. That's sure to give you quite the stomache, let me tell you.

Gelukkig was de vakantie daarna wel weer heel leuk, maar het is best moeilijk om je hier even overheen te zetten. Gelukkig had ik mijn fotokaartje niet geleegd voor we op vakantie gingen, dus ik heb alle foto's vanaf begin juli nog. En de backup was net na Lars' eerste verjaardag, dus die foto's heb ik ook nog. Maar het blijft erg zuur. De komische noot in het verhaal is wel dat ik een Zwitserse laptop had, wat wil zeggen dat ik zo'n beetje de enige in Nederland ben die ermee kan typen. Er zit namelijk een ander toetsenbord op dan de standaard Qwerty-indeling die wij gewend zijn. Gnagnagna. Stelletje sukkels.

Fortunately, the holiday went right along the good path the next day, but it takes a lot from one to put yourself over such a tragedy. I am so happy I did not empty my SD card before we went on holiday. That means still heve all images from early July. and we had it ackupped right after Lars' first birthday, so those pics are secure too.

Leukere opdeetjes volgen hopelijk snel, maar ik moet even wennen aan de door mij gekaapte computer van William...
